Entre varios significados el adjetivo pendiente indica ‘estar atento a alguien o algo’ debe acompañarse de la preposición de «Era increíble que nadie estuviera pendiente de Juanito»; en México es usado como sustantivo masculino con el sentido de ‘preocupación, inquietud o asunto del que debe uno encargarse’ de ahí la formación en nuestro país de la locución al pendiente que tiene el significado de ‘con la atención, el interés o el cuidado puesto en alguien o algo’ ; ambas expresiones son válidas.
